In September of 2018 the POC approved a battery replacement program presented by Consortium staff. The Consortium will now be responsible for providing batteries for all portable radios and pagers carried by our users. This program will ensure that equipment that has been provided for use by our first responders is in good working order. The POC also approved the expense of upgrading all the radio consoles in the County to be encrypted. This will enable users in the field and dispatch centers to have secure two-way communications.
